Q1. How did Reso influence your decision to pursue your MBA at INSEAD?
A: My time at Reso exposed me to diverse research projects across various industries and regions. These projects broadened my business perspective. Working with international clients that include top-tier consulting firms, sovereign wealth funds, and government ministries highlighted the importance of a global business education. Also, working with colleagues from different backgrounds and handling international projects inspired me to seek an MBA at a leading international school. INSEAD – with its global reputation and highly diverse student body – was the perfect choice to further develop my leadership skills and advance my business knowledge.
Q2. What would you say is your biggest achievement since joining the company?
A: My biggest achievement at Reso was spearheading the establishment of our first international office in India and growing this office to a team of nearly 30 individuals. This was a transformative project for the company and a significant milestone for us. I was responsible for hiring, training, and managing a large team of extremely talented individuals from diverse backgrounds. This experience honed my skills in leadership, team management, and strategic planning.
Q3. What are your fondest memories from your time at Reso?
A: Some of my fondest memories at Reso revolve around working on some of the coolest and most impactful projects across the MENA region. Collaborating with super smart and talented colleagues to deliver high-quality research for top-tier clients was incredibly rewarding. While no two days were the same at Reso, the camaraderie and brainstorming sessions with my team were a constant source of joy and inspiration across my five years with the company.
Q4. What skills do you believe are essential for success in the research industry today?
A: Success in the research industry today requires a blend of several key skills. Analytical thinking and meticulous attention to detail are extremely important for generating meaningful insights for clients. Being able to then communicate these insights to clients effectively is also equally important. Finally, being able to build up terrain knowledge on an unfamiliar topic and commitment to continuous learning are essential to keep pace with the fast-evolving research industry landscape.
Q5. What advice would you give to current employees aspiring to advance in their careers at Reso?
A: Embrace every opportunity to learn and grow. Take on challenging projects and continuously seek feedback and then work on that feedback. Build strong relationships with not only your colleagues but also your clients. Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and always be proactive in seeking out new responsibilities.
